I am sorry, Jane. I am completely stupid at using fh charts.
I use Jane's system of the Attribute and Query. I would also like to use Jane's DNA charting
but all these months later still dont undersrtand how to do this?
"Having a custom fact against the people concerned also means I can do diagrams with a small marker to show they are a confirmed DNA match using1
%INDI.EVEN-GEDMATCH%
as a Box condition of the expression type."
I open a blank chart but havent any idea how to set a box condition?

The background advice is in how_to:using_flags_and_icons_and_expressions|> Using Flags and Icons and Expressions.
With the desired Diagram/Chart open, use the Diagram > Options > Boxes tab and << Add Condition button.
Choose the Expression option and insert %INDI.EVEN-GEDMATCH% or your custom fact Data Reference.
Use the << Insert Data Ref... button to help construct the Data Reference if necessary
After clicking OK, choose the Icon or any other Box Feature required.

I did not like to admit this yesterday. But I failed to make a chart like Jane's. And it isnt exactly essential to using fh!
I used the Box Options menu as instructed. Since everybody is related to everyone else, may be that is why everyone appeared?
But I think maybe I dont understand the starting point? Or the type and limits of the diagram.
Would it be too much trouble Jane for you at some point to publish step by step instructions for making a chart like you show on line?
I have been using your system for which I am very grateful but it irks me that a year later, I still cant work out the chart aspect.
I have 32 DNA matches from people to my Sadler tree of 2565 people, for some of whom the link is uncertain.

Is this Jane's article:
https://www.taubman.org.uk/family/wp/20 ... historian/
That contains all the details about
Box Conditions but does not involve any specific type of
Diagram.
The
Diagram at the top is derived from
Tools > How Related.
The
Diagram further on is a
Descendant Diagram.
You can use any
Diagram you like.
The
Box Condition adds the
DNA Helix icon shown in Jane's diagrams to
Individuals who have the
%INDI.EVEN-GEDMATCH% custom event. The
Box Conditions do not control who is shown in a
Diagram.

Thank you Mike. I live and learn. I did not realise that fh enabled one to show a relationship in the form of a diagram.
At some point I will look for an double helix icon - I think someone else was looking for one.

Thank you. I had found one. But I downloaded yours as well. It was kind of you.
What is so annoying is that although I have the full printed instruction book by Simon Orde, and the knowledge base, I have clean forgotten how to add the icons. I think that is because they are called flags?
But flags are not in the book index.
And the references to icons explain the buttons across the tip of the screen. This all reminds me of my initial failure to use fh Version 2.
I need to revise using fh, like one would need to for GCSE.

Diagram Icons and Record Flags are not the same thing, but are often confused.
Record Flags can only be added to Indiviudal Records and examples include Private and Living.
They are tiny pieces of data added to the GEDCOM file.
Diagram Icons are tiny BMP image files that can be conditionally attached to Diagram Boxes.
Those BMP files should be added to the global C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Icons folder.
(Alternatively, save them somewhere memorable within your Project's Public folder.)
The confusion stems from the popular practice of using the Diagram Boxes Conditions to make Records Flags produce Diagram Icons, but in this case the DNA Icon should be conditional on your custom GEDMATCH fact.
In Getting the Most From Family Historian see Chapter 9 Setting the Style, Layout & Content of Diagrams where it discusses B&B-Style Icons and The Boxes Tab.
