restoring 'click-and-drag on the picture' hint

Post by fugu68 » 23 Nov 2018 19:20

I had removed the 'click and drag on the picture to draw a stretchy box...' hint that appears when you click add frame link from the media link tool, but would like to restore to help a new user of the programme.

Is there a way to restore this from media preferences? I cannot immediately see an option for this.

Many thanks.

There does not appear to be an option to restore those Beginners Help dialogues.
The setting is stored in the Windows Registry so use the attached file as follows.
  • Click to download the ATTACHMENT BeginnersHelp.zip file to say your Desktop
  • Right-click that .zip file and choose Extract All
  • That should list the extracted BeginnersHelp.reg file
  • Double-click that .reg file to run it and note the warning, but click Yes to continue
  • It will enable all 14 of the Beginners Help dialogues with the Show this again next time tick options
[ EDIT: Attachment deleted as no longer needed. ]
