I have been trying to work out the best way to record something with further research needed and have read the two methods of Named Lists and Custom Attributes but not yet worked out which is the best approach for me.
Giving an example:
Entering a census and you find a visitor/boarder/lodger that may or may not link in to your family at some point. I don't want to include lots of floating unlinked individuals. At the moment I am putting a "who is xx?" as a note in the notes tab for the head of household but I also use that notes tab for other information pertinent to that person but which would never be needed for further research. I wondered if I would be better making a note against the source or is there another preferred option where I can report of outstanding questions relating to anything, including census queries.
I am running v 6.2.7
Thank you
Liz

Liz,
Have a look at a ToDo list. (Search knowledgebase) I think you’ll find this is what you’re looking for.

I use the In Progress flag that is set to display a heavy dotted box outline for those people in diagrams together with a 'men at work' icon.
