Twin Icon for Diagrams
I seem to be having a very senior moment as I'm sure that I've done this before. I want to put Jane's Twin Icon on a diagram, I've tried downloading it but all I seem to have under Calico Pie are the Tutorial files and I thought that there was a place to put the downloaded Icons. I also can't see how to get the Icon onto the diagram once I've found out where it has been stored. As I said I'm sure that I've done this before, so can anyone explain how I can do this in easy language please.
Thanks
Margaret.
Thanks
Margaret.

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
To add the icon you go to Diagram>options and the Box tab and add an expression
how_to:find_twins|> Find and Mark Twins (How To)
There are detailed instructions here: how_to:using_flags_and_icons_and_expressions|> Using Flags and Icons and Expressions

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
You are looking in …Public Documents\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Tutorial Files whereas you need to use C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Icons as advised in glossary:family_historian_program_data_folder|> Family Historian Program Data Folder. It says much the same in fhugdownloads:contents:janescensusicons|> Diagram Icons ~ Jane's Census and Certificate Icons under the Installation Instructions.

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
Thank you Jane & Mike, I've managed to find the Twin icon which is in the Icon folder but I'm stumped as to how to transfer that to my diagram, I don't want to find sets of twins I just want to attach the little icon to the box and have 'Twin' entered on the All Tab of the Property Box. I'm sure that at one time I would just click something and the Icon would appear first on the list of icons under the box in the diagram. I must be missing something so obvious.

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
OK Margaret, it is a two stage process.
Firstly to add a Flag called Twin and then add the Icon conditional on the Flag.
1) Add Flag
To add the Flag, select the twins, and use Edit > Record Flags.
If there already is a Twin flag, then tick it, otherwise use New button to create it.
Thereafter, in their Property Box on the All tab that Twin flag will be shown.
In that All tab, you can also use right-click Set Flag and choose the Twin flag.
2) Add Icon
Now in the Diagram, the Twin Icon may have appeared automatically.
If not, then use Diagram > Options > Boxes and << Add Condition > Record Flag and choose Twin flag.
In the Box Features dialogue that pops up, tick Icon and << Select the Twin icon, then OK out.
Repeat step 1) for any new twins and the rest will happen automatically.

Everyone does things their own way, but I am curious why you might need such a flag – Is it not immediately apparent from the siblings' birth date that they are twins?

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
It's very useful on Diagrams to spot twins, when my sister was pregnant with twins, she said they don't run in the family do they, I was "happy" to tell her, that one of our G-Grandmother's had 3 sets of twins along with 10 other children. It can also be useful to mark those you know are twins as in the past twins often did not survive very long.

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
Yes, but you don't need all that manual adding of record Flags.
As explained in how_to:using_flags_and_icons_and_expressions|> Using Flags and Icons and Expressions a Box Condition Expression will work automatically for any multiple births.
The following Expression is given as a Worked Example.
=IsTrue( (Diff(DayNumber(%INDI.BIRT.DATE%),DayNumber(Field(NextSib(%INDI%,1),'INDI.BIRT.DATE'))) < 2 ) or (Diff(DayNumber(%INDI.BIRT.DATE%),DayNumber(Field(PrevSib(%INDI%,1),'INDI.BIRT.DATE'))) < 2 ) )
I know it is a bit complex but is simply checking if the difference between the Day Number of adjacent siblings is less than 2 days.
Once that Box Condition Expression has been added, you never need to do anything, and the Twins Icon will be added automatically to Diagrams.

Re: Twin Icon for Diagrams
I only have a few pairs of twins and as they aren't in the direct line I don't have BMD certificates for them just the quarter dates, so the Flag is perfect for me. I like to have something visual on the charts so I have Jane's icons for the Census years and BMD for where I have certificates, this makes it easy for me to work out what is missing.
