Shade diagram box via query

Post by Orijohnal » 30 Nov 2017 19:58

I've run out of ideas for searching this subject. If this horse has already been beaten to death, please point me to the topic or the KB article.

I want to persistently shade or otherwise format diagram boxes according to specific criteria. For example, I want to shade all records where age at death is less than 18. I get as far as the result set for the "Age at Death" query and can manually assign a record flag, then conditionally format. I guess I'm asking if I can "automate" the assignment of record flags so (in this example) a record's diagram box is shaded if their age at death is less than 18.

Thanks as usual!

Yes, see how_to:using_flags_and_icons_and_expressions|> Using Flags and Icons and Expressions where it explains that instead of using Record Flag Conditions you can use Expression Conditions more efficiently.

In this case the Expression derived from the Query would be:
=IsTrue( %INDI.DEAT.DATE:AGE_AT% < 18 )
Then set the Features just as you would for a Record Flag Condition.
