Hi Folks,
Family Historian v5
Open the Focus Window
Go to File
Go to Gedcom File Tasks
This brings up a list of files showing available family trees.
How can I delete those files that are no longer needed??
Kindest regards
genesnz

Re: deleting from Gedcom File Tasks
I am using V6 but I think the same applies in V5:
What you are seeing is a list of gedcom files you have used in the past, in reverse order (most recently used at top). You will see the same list via the Project Window > More Tasks > Gedcom file tasks. But the fact that they are in the list does not necessarily mean they are still 'available'.
It is possible to delete those files themselves as long as you are sure you no longer need them, but their names will still remain in that list.
If the files themselves still exist, then if they are part of a Project structure they should be listed in the Project window. You can delete an unwanted Project by selecting it in the Project window and using More Tasks > Delete Project.
If they were stand-alone Gedcom files you can delete them by navigating to them using Windows Explorer and deleteing them there, as you would any other file.
BUT they will still be listed under Gedcom File Tasks. If you then click on one of them in the list you will get a message saying "Unable to open file ...... File path is not valid".

Re: deleting from Gedcom File Tasks
I am away from my PC just now, but don't think there is a way to delete entries from list short of editing the Windows Registry (not recommended).
