Using FH using Crossover on MacBook - report problems

Post by narrowboatdave » 18 Nov 2016 14:51

Having used FH for many years on my old Windows laptop, I was disappointed not to be able to use it on my new MacBook Air. I started to use Reunion, but found this a poor substitute.

However, I recently succeeded in opening up FH 6 on the new Mac laptop by using CrossOver and it is good to be back! It works pretty well, but I do have a major problem with reports.

I want to produce a descendant report, but nothing appears apart from the media items connected to each record and a series of lines - in other words, no text. Is it something I'm not doing right, or is it a quirk of using CrossOver. If the latter, is it possible to work round this in any way?

have you reviewed

how_to:family_historian_v6_on_crossover_wine|V6 on Crossover

Particularly
Some FH Reports may display text incorrectly, but this is usually cured by using Tools > Preferences > General > Advanced > Emulator Compatibility Mode.

Thanks, Jane. Simples, to quote a meerkat.....

I wouldn't have thought about that at all - that level of technique is some way over my head.

Many thanks
