Hi there
I am new to this and so please excuse my ignorance.
I have a family tree on Family Historian which I want to transfer to a file or USB so I can send it to the printers for printing on a large piece of paper as one sheet.
Can I do that and if so how?
Many thanks for any help
Jerry

Re: Printing Whole Tree
Welcome to the FHUG your Highness.
I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum because Importing and Exporting is as it says for "Importing from or exporting to another genealogy program."
Jerry, the first step is to talk to your prospective printer company to discuss the options.
Some listed in fhugdownloads:publishers|> Downloads and Links ~ Publishers will work from a FH Gedcom and produce diagrams to your instructions.
However, it is more likely that the printers will prefer to work with a single page PDF file.
You need to use the FH Diagram features to produce a saved FH Chart that includes everyone you want with all the box details required, plus any Title or Captions and background images you prefer.
You may have to experiment with the settings until the text is readable when printed on a single sheet.
Then use the technique explained in how_to:creating_a_single_page_pdf_of_a_diagram|> Single Page PDF of a Diagram.
Essentialy the command to use is Diagram > Save Diagram As > PDF File (.pdf) and ensure Adjust PDF File Page Size so that Diagram fits into One Page is selected.
The resulting PDF file can be Emailed to printer or sent on a USB memory stick.

Re: Printing Whole Tree
I have had some trees printed by a printer. I first sent them the tree and they replied suggesting I make it small by (say) 75% . It was the same tree but reduced in size. The reason they suggested that was to make it cheaper for me to buy and easier to handle
It is a few years since I used them they were excellent

Re: Printing Whole Tree
For very large trees, there are several specialist printers who can take Family Historian charts and print them for you.
There are links for them in the knowledge base
