Record List to Focus Window

Post by Hanning » 07 Oct 2016 00:04

Listers
1. Is there a way to make a double click on an Individual Record show that individual in the Focus Window as well in the Property Window?
2. And, is there a way to customise the columns in the Childrens list in the property window? I have read the Topic concerning display of childrens spouses etc in the Focus Window but perhaps there is an alternative here?

Hanning,

1. I don't believe this is possible. The only option is defined in Tools > Preferences > Records Window. The option is Double-click on record in Record List means 'Open Property Box'.

There are a couple of alternatives that you are probably already aware of.

If you select the record on the records list and then click on the Focus icon (the magnifying glass in the main FH toolbar), this will open the focus window and property box for that individual.

If you select the option mentioned above and then double click on an individual in the list that will open the property box. You can then click on the magnifying glass icon in the Property Box toolbar and this will display the focus window.

2. AFAIK there is no way to customize the columns in the children list on the focus window.

Another short cut is with a record selected in the record list do Alt-V then F to jump to the Focus window.

The nice thing about that one is it works from any workspace.
