How does the wish list work?

Post by Gowermick » 22 Apr 2016 07:21

I have posted a request to the wish list, but I am confused as to how the list operates.

I understand, and accept that wishes are 'voted' for, with the most popular going forward, BUT how does one vote for one? I can find no facility/mechanism for voting for or liking a proposal!

What am I missing?

Under the General Board Index, against the heading for New Wish List Requests, there's a link: "For existing requests please see The Wish List" Click the link there and you'll get a list of all requests. Click the one you are interested in, and after the description there's a box where you can vote.

I do think it would be helpful if a copy of that link could also be in a sticky post at the top of the New Wish List Requests group.

I have moved this to the User Group Forum that is more applicable.

The New Wish List Requests Forum should trickle feed The Wish List that has restricted write access, but Jane who usually manages that has had other commitments recently, and another member (whose name I forget) was involved about a year ago but appears to be no longer active on FHUG.

I will see if I can improved the sticky posting at the head of the New Wish List Requests Forum.

I think it's much longer than that. The person concerned has never signed in since FHUG moved to its present site, and there are unprocessed requests in the Wish List Requests forum going back three years. Admittedly many of the requests have had solutions provided (usually by Mike!) or turn out to be existing requests already on the Wish List. But some tidying up is long overdue.

I can willingly review the New Wish List Requests Forum, and move redundant ones to the Closed Wish List Requests or another appropriate Forum, leaving just genuine Wish List candidates.

BUT I need write access to the Closed Wish List Requests list.
