Records Window

Post by gwilym'smum » 03 Feb 2016 10:41

I have several columns in my record list. One is "spouce" All the other columns show the information, however, "spouce" does not contain any information. What am I doing wrong? I would like this to quickly identify a record where there are ancestors with the same name and similar date.
Also I have entered 20th century children and in the "focus" window get an age after the birth. I realise this is the age they would be but as I cannot find deaths for them I do not know if they are alive. I would like to delete the age reference.

Welcome to the FHUG.

I don't think the Individuals tab of the Records Window has a Spouce (or do you mean Spouse) column by default.
So I suspect you have added it, and to display the Spouse/Partner of the Individual requires the Expression %INDI.~SPOU>NAME% but gets more complicated if you want to display all the Spouse/Partner details of multiple marriages/partnerships.

To identify records with similar names and dates, I guess you are looking for possible duplicates, so try the Find Duplicate Individuals Plugin.

You can only remove the Age entry on the Focus Window globally, not for specific people.
Click on Customize View in top right corner of Focus pane, and untick Ages near the middle.
