Inheritance fact

Post by philmcleod » 22 Jul 2015 20:34

Has anyone any advice how to enter details of an individuals inheritance so as to trace the "family silver"
It needs to have fields for Date, Inherited from, and item as a minimum.

I deal with that by using a Custom Inheritance Attribute, which is one of my fhugdownloads:contents:kinsfolk_facts_sources|> Downloads and Links ~ Fact Set ~ Kinsfolk Facts & Sources that also offers Will Witness, Will Executor, Will Legacy, and other custom facts.

The Inheritance fact supports all the usual Date, Age, Place, Address & Note fields.
Additionally it has an Attribute Value field to hold the inheritance item/value and who from.
e.g.
Inheritance: £197 from his father Henry

So the Narrative Sentence might say:
He inherited £197 from his father Henry on 1 January 1900 in Winchester, Hampshire, England.
