Installing version 6 on a laptop

Post by mitcheip » 30 Apr 2015 17:11

Hi,

I got a free upgrade from version 5 to v6 because I purchased FH just before the release of V6.

I have a link that allowed the upgrade from v5 to v6 but it was only valid for 30 days.

I'm going on holidays I decided to take my laptop with me just in case I had a few minutes to spare to carry on with my database clean up. I haven't used it for months and it has V5 installed.

I have tried the upgrade link but that doesn't work.

I have tried downloading demo V6 and entering the v6 key that I have but that doesn't work.

Any ideas how do I get the laptop upgraded?

You should have downloaded the upgrade within the 30 days, even if you did not want to install it until later.

The other methods you tried won't work because they are not upgrades.

I presume the link came by E-mail from Calico Pie.
If possible reply to the E-mail or if that does not work then E-mail support@family-historian.co.uk and supply as many relevant details as possible, in particular your E-mail address at that time if it has changed, then they should re-activate the link for you.

Don't forget to update to the lastest FH V6 free download.

Also make a how_to:family_historian_installation_details#installation_archive|> FH Installation Archive.
