How can I save my preferred workspace-view in FH6?
Every time when starting I must manually adjust my view. This is tedious.
At the left side I have the Records-window. In the middle the Focus-window and the Map-window. At the right side the Property-box.
One wish for a future version of FH:
Why not move the Record-Links into the workspace instead of opening an own window? There is a useless empty space at the bottom of the Property-box ("Not applicable") when selecting a list (example: sources). The Record-Links could be shown at that place and it would always be updated. This would be great!

Re: Workspace
The current FH version does not save main workspace window view.
Wish List items to preserve all window characteristics have existed for some time but only get fixed for specific types of windows.
The Property Box ("Not applicable") pane is the yellow Sources pane, which has not been implemented for some types of Record, but is used by Individual, Family, and Note records.
I am not sure what you mean by 'Record-Links'.

Record-Links:
Menu: View/Record Links...
(or Shortcut: Alt+V L)

Re: Workspace
OK, yes.
A complication is that most records may have both Source Citations and Record Links, so cannot show both in the same pane.
e.g.
Check out Individual, Family, and Note records that do show Source Citations in yellow pane. Use View > Record Links and usually several records are listed.
Source, Repository, and Media records do not currently show Source Citations in yellow (Not applicable) pane, but such Citations can exist and an upgrade would show them in this pane, so Record Links cannot be listed there.
Perhaps a pair of toggle buttons for Show Sources and Show Links would work, that toggled between showing Source Citations or Record Links in the yellow pane.

Re: Workspace
Remember this is the FH User Group and I am just a user like you, so don't expect those buttons to appear.
You must either add that idea to the New Wish List Requests Forum, or E-mail Calico Pie at support@family-historian.co.uk and suggest that change to the program developer.
