MAP Window offline use

Post by Karl » 11 Apr 2015 09:09

Hi,

FH6 is running on Windows 8.1 without internet (because of security reasons). Is it possible to use OpenStreetMap offline? I can download map-data via an other PC. Or is there a simple world map for those people without internet?

Thanks,
Karl

I do not recognise OpenStreetMap as a feature of FH V6.

Anyway, it is NOT possible to run online Internet features when offline.

Hi Mike,

in the Map-WIndow you can select OpenStreetMap or OSM Roads for viewing maps.
And it is possible offline! After trying a little I found the way.

You need a second PC with internet and installed FH6. There open the FH6 Map-Window, view and scroll online within OpenStreetMaps. Close FH6 and make a copy of the folder: c:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Map\Cache to a memory-stick. Copy the complete folder to the other PC that has no internet. Now you can view the maps in the Map-Window on this other PC offline!

OK, I stand corrected.
