Variations in surname

Post by Mike Davies » 18 Feb 2015 20:02

Hi all I have just been researching a relative and have found the following variations in various sources. Widcombe, Widcomb, Witcombe and Witcomb. I have added the alternative names in more box on the main tab. Do I need to do anything else to make sure that these variations are taken into account when using plugin etc such as missing census facts
Thanks in advance
Mike

Some Plugins such as Find Duplicate Individuals do take Alternate Names into account.

However, the Lookup Missing Census Facts Plugin does not use Alternate Names because Ancestry and FindMyPast tend to list similar names along with exact matches.
