* Remove blank row from chart
Remove blank row from chart
I have a chart with the option boundary lines set to row boundaries. There is a row which is empty of any people, there are two vertical lines passing through the row. I cannot find a way to get rid of this row and so increase the scale to get a more readable tree on a single sheet.

Re: Remove blank row from chart
Presumably this is an All Relatives chart and is being shown in Layered Format, the blank row probably means there are no cousins for the People shown on the next row. The design of the Layered chart means you won't be able to get rid of the row, with out manually moving the boxes, but you could switch to the Flat layout on diagram options.

Re: Remove blank row from chart
Is it possible that at some time in the past you have used the Moving/Resizing Controls to alter the positions of some boxes?
If you use Diagram > Enable Moving/Resizing does your chart look anything like: Can you left-click and drag the points ringed in red to move the boxes?
Alternatively, it may be a good idea to rebuild the chart completely.
In Diagram > Options temporarily change one of the options shown in red such as Generations Up and rebuild the chart, then restore original setting and rebuild again.
Does that tidy up the chart?

Another thought...
Is your chart Diagram > Options > Orientation: Left-right and the vertical lines dotted?
Do these lines vanish if you select Boundary Lines: Generation boundaries ?
If so, then Jane's explanation is probably correct.

Mike and Jane
Many thanks for the ideas - left clicking on the red dots did the trick.
