Archive reference numbering

Post by aragorn » 04 Jan 2005 19:38

I have a large collection of old family photos which I am gradually scanning into my computer.I have been trying to work out a system for referencing each photo by a number so that I can find a particular photo out of several hundred.I have to keep in mind that I may have more photos to add at various times in the future and that I have photos of individuals and families. Does any one know of any numbering systems I could use?[wink]

Archive reference numbering

I tend to simply sequentially number the photographs, I then catalogue them using FH. Adding links and descriptions to them.

At the same time I also catalogue them in Adobe Photoshop Album, which I also use to catalogue my digital photographs which have nothing to do with my family history.
