Descendant Outline Problem

Post by JoanPotts » 11 Dec 2004 23:10

I have installed the upgrade 2.3 and I find when I produce a descendant outline report, generation 1 is Ok but generation 2 becomes 3 and 3 becomes 5 and so on.  All the generations are there but they have been given odd numbers only and the gaps between the verticle lines are twice as big.  Can you help?

Descendant Outline Problem

I think this problem has already been reported. If you select one of the other numbering schemes it should be OK.

I believe Calico are intending to issue a patch for 2.3 to fix the problem, but I do not know any time scales.

You may be able to fix the spacing problem by going in to options and selecting Installation settings on the layout page

Descendant Outline Problem

Yes I found the same problem but I have a temporary fix for the numbers.

Save report in rtf format and open it in word or such other. Do a find and replace as follows

find string is 3. replace string is 2.
find string is 5. replace string is 3.
and so on.
Rather laborious but if you want the report to look right with the generation numbers then I can't see any other choice.

As for the spacing on the page then use the Options button on the generated report window. In the options there is a page layout tab. On the tab there are a number of boxes. I changed the Column indents to 0.25 cm and the Tab width to 0.5 cm and the Para Indent to 0.25 and this gave me quite a satisfactory report layout.

Hope this helps[smile]
