Hi
I'm new to trying to change things but I have discovered a number of ancestors with apprenticeship records and would like to be able to record the date of apprenticeship, master, occupation and location (at least).
Is there a clever way of doing this AND having a nice sentence/paragraph about it?
Cheers

Custom event help?
Yes, create one or more Custom Facts either Events or Attributes.
Use Tools > Work with Fact Sets and checkout all the advice via the Help button.
You need to create a New... Fact, named say Apprenticeship, with Fact Type Attribute (probably better than Event), and Record Type Individual.
In the Fact Definition window click Help again for more advice.
The Normal Time Frame should be Life.
The Template is the key to a nice sentence.
The Help discusses Template Codes which allow fields from the Fact to be included in the sentence.
So a Template like the following might be a good start:
{individual} was apprenticed as {a/an value} {date} {place}
Assuming the Individual is Tom Smith, the Value assigned to the Fact is Cooper to John Master, and the Date: 1888 and the Place: Bristol, then sentence would be:
Tom Smith was apprenticed as a Cooper to John Master in 1888 in Bristol.
