Link to face icon greyed out

I want to create links to faces from a photo, I am in Multimedia Window but only the Simple Link icon in the toolbar is active. Link to face is greyed out, as is the convert simple to face. Where do I enable these icons?

It sounds as if you have a directly attached image, can you confirm you do have a multimedia record for the image you are trying to add a face for?

Yes definitely. It is greyed out for ALL of my multimedia.

It will be greyed out if Thumbnails are displayed. Try double-clicking the relevant image, or clicking the View Thumbnails button on the toolbar.

Thanks, I had thumbnails on. All sorted now.
