Family List by Record ID (1)

Post by jsphillips » 17 Oct 2012 12:41

It seems to be a morning this morning.
This is my second posting !!
On the File Stats list copy attached my Lords file shows 84 families. This seemed large so I ran View..Custom queries Family List by Record ID (1).
Lo and behold 84 lines to agree above.

On the Query printout (as attached) there appear to be 4 records nos 3 4 7 & 8 which have no husband or wife attached ?? I have clicked on the blank spaces no avail to find out why these records qualify and to whom they point.
Can you please tell me how to identify these records so I can audit and if necessary correct or adjust. There appears to be no pointers to the individual ID only the list ID.

You should find a similar list in the Records Window on the Families tab.
7 and 8 are not linked to anything.
3 and 4 have 6 and 4 links respectively.
Select record and use View > Record Links.

If Families tab does not show then use Tools > Preferences > Records Window > Families: Always show.

If you add another column to the Query, for the Family Record you will be able to click on it to open the Family Record on the Property Box.

Once there check the All tab, as there is probably some data there, perhaps a child link or a marriage fact which is stopping FH from clearing up the records.

Thank you for your kind help.
The GED file was imported by me from Australia from my wifes niece. It was not my main FH file only a secondary project. I was not aware that she had just created some names and had no linking on them. Also some files with no parents at all. I left in place now the original and created a copy and then deleted unlinked files and deleted any names that had no father or mother. All then worked fine !!
Thanks again I have added my name to the wish list for pools. Any knoledge from Calico on any updates of any kind ??
