What is the difference between a plug in and a query.
I can see that both can achieve the same result ??

A Query can only report existing data fields and records within your FH database.

A Plugin can create reports too, but can associate fields and records in more complex ways than a Query c.f Search All Possible Names.
A Plugin can also modify your database, c.f. Search and Replace.
A Plugin can also interact with external resources, c.f. Map Life Events.
These a just a few of the capabilities of a Plugin, which offers much more than a Query.

As in queries we have Standard and custom queries.
Will Calico be writing any plugins as 'Standard' or is it left to the Techies on line to produce Customs plugins.

There are currently 45 plugins available for download from the Plugin Store which is on Calico Pie's Family Historian website, not on FHUG.  There is no distinction between 'Standard' and 'Custom'.  I guess several users, like me, have also written plugins for themselves, or modified their copies of downloaded plugins, in order to report data more flexibly than allowed by FH queries, or to automate some updating of their data.
