I’ve been cleaning up my data, moving things like church names and house names to the addresses fields, but I’m left with many places on the place list which are no longer used. Is there any simple way of removing these redundant places?
Many thanks
Andrew

Re: Removing Redundant Places
Yes, see how_to:delete_a_large_number_of_records|> Delete Any Number of Records.
The strategy is to select the Place records with 0 Links, copy them to a Named List and use Delete Named List Records.
Regarding church and house names in the Address field see glossary:places#church_names|> Church Names which is part of understanding glossary:places|> Places and Addresses.
The problem is that many churches in different Places have the same name, so if you need to update all copies of the Address with a particular church name you cannot tell one from another because Tools > Work with Data > Addresses lumps them all together.
