Clone Fact Sets

Post by ColinMc »

The article at how_to:narrative_report_fact_sentence_templates|> Narrative Report Fact Sentence Templates contains the following
If you intend to extensively modify the default Sentence Template definitions for many Facts, then it is advisable to use the Fact Sets button and Clone the appropriate fact set, especially the Standard set.
I have been unable to clone a fact set. If I select say the Standard Set, then click on Clone, I get asked for a new name, and this then creates an empty fact set.

What am I doing wrong?

I have moved this to the FH General Usage Forum that is more appropriate.

You need to tick Show Hidden because any replicated facts will be <eclipsed> by any higher ranked Fact Set as listed in the Fact Sets dialogue.

If you move the new cloned Fact Set above the original Standard Fact Set, then the cloned facts are revealed and the Standard set is <eclipsed>.

Perhaps the KB advice needs to mention the Show Hidden effect.

Ok I understand now, and I think the KB definitely needs updating
