Research Planner -- what templates do you use?

I've just started trying the RP, and it's a lot of fun

Pretty sure I'm thinking too narrowly about it's uses, though. What templates do you find useful?

This may be a silly question, but have you reviewed the Help provided?

Are you talking about the values to enter into the default Title, Status, Priority, Objective, etc, fields?
Or are you talking about the Tools > Options to define different field headings?

Mike, I think KayCee is asking about what people construct templates for , not how they construct them, and that's an excellent question.

I have a set of obvious template -- Find Birth Registration; Find Burial; Find 1851 Census -- that sort of thing.

And I have some less obvious (perhaps) templates:

Find Photo (the objective would clarify what this was a photo of -- maybe the church where an individual married -- and the template Notes would list a set of websites I use repeatedly to look for public domain photos).
Visit Cemetery to photograph grave (when searching for tasks, use the Cemetery name as a keyword)
Search online catalog for archive X for any mention of the individual -- useful when planning an archive visit
Send updated individual information to correspondent Y at regular intervals

I'm hoping to get ideas from other users as well.

Some interesting "extras" there Helen - I too have BMD, Burial, Census, Emigration and "Misc" templates, but there might be a few more I could add based on your "less obvious" ones!

A useful trick for this is to go to google images, select Tools (1) then Usage Rights (2) and filter for Non Commerical Use or similar

So far, I've also added templates to search for military service documentation, and for residency (city directories, newspapers, and such).

I think the one that will be the most fun, though, is one I've called "Time and Place". I'm doing a lot of work to provide context to my ancestors' lives. So far, the template just reminds me to contact the state and local historical societies for background information -- I'm sure that I'll adapt it as I go.
