I have a de Sumichrast surname in this country ie UK with a birth date and father data in Italy. To be more precise it is Florence. The father George de Sumichrast was a Swiss Guard veteran.
I have tried googling , I have tried family search and FMP all to no avail.
All I want to do is to reserch the de Sumichrast family in Flornece/Italy. I have all the UK links.
Any kind soul any ideas who I can write to or logon to ?
Thanks

Have you worked through the Italian research course on Family Search?

Hello
Take a look at the Anglo-Italian Family History Society website at https://anglo-italianfhs.org.uk/default.php which should give you some ideas about how to start. There are some helpful links and introductions to research.
One of the key things to know about when researching Italian ancestors is some idea of the place they originated from. Since you have an idea of this already with Firenze (Florence) you may find information on the Italian 'Ancestors' portal called Antenati at http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/
