Hello all,
I just bought FH, and tried to import the GED file that I downloaded from Ancestry.com.
I have probably a hundred people in my tree on Ancestry, and only 4 people got imported.
The software said to review the log file for errors, but I can't find the log file (is it available through one of the menus?).
Thank you for your help!
Barb

Welcome to the FHUG Barb.
Where are you looking for people?
Are you just looking in the Focus Window that only shows a family group?
Have you looked in the Records Window on the Individuals tab?
How many are listed there?
Have you studied how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers as advised when you joined?
I suspect your problem is simply unfamiliarity with FH, which is very different from Ancestry trees.
Have you seen how_to:import_from_ancestry|> Import from Ancestry website?
Try comparing your imported Project against the Family Historian Sample Project.

Barb,
If you do want to look at the log files, in Windows they are in the Log Files folder within your project folder.
example: C:\My Documents\FH\project_name\project_name.fh_data\Log Files

That presupposes that Barb imported as a New Project.
If so, the the Window > Log Files command will find the logs.
If only loaded as a GEDCOM file then I don't think the logs are kept.
