Findmypast changes to terms & conditions

Post by Gowermick » 29 Aug 2018 18:18

Just received an e-mail from findmypast about their new terms and conditions, which in effect means all the records I accessed when I had a subscription, will no longer be available to view without a current subscription.

I am lucky, in that I always download images, so it won’t affect me much, but for those relying on accessing their images via Findmypast in the future, be warned, Download them now whilst you still can!

Yes, good advice.
I have had the same message for a dummy account without a subscription.
Hopefully other free tools such as the Family Tree builder will be unaffected.
They say I will be informed about the exact date this change is planned for closer to the time.

See Ann’s post Find My Past free weekend (16221), concerning the upcoming free weekend at FMP.

Further,

If I follow a hint that appears from FMP on my FH site, and I am signed into FMP as a paid up subscriber, why can't I down load an image via a right click and save as a jpg ? Any suggestions ?
