* Records Window - Individuals Tab

I find the Individuals tab can be tricky to use, as in many cases I have multiple individuals with the same name.

Even having dates shown at this stage often does not help, particularly as there are often ones with missing dates. Is there any way I can add the first husband/wife. I cannot see that listed in the available fields. I cannot see any reference to it in the "getting the most of" book either. I have made one or two minor changes to the tab to suit me, but wife/husband would be perfect.

Incidentally, just for info, a forum search for "Records Window" failed with the following message!

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: window record.

I use the Name Search query which I have customised to suit me with this output:-

I find it most helpful for more frequent names.

I find clicking on the + sign will reveal more data including Parents Family and Spouse family if present.

Add an 'Other' column to your dislay, and use this data reference:

%INDI.~SPOU[1]>NAME[1]:FULL%

Give it the header you choose (I use First Spouse).

The trick to add anything is to use the OTHER option right at the bottom of the list and then you can add any data reference you want.

Wow that's really helpful. Thanks to all who responded.

The workarounds were a possible solution, but "Other" is the perfect solution.

Might have a look at what other "Others" I can add!
