Showing Internet Matches on a chart

Post by rfj1001 » 10 Mar 2018 12:52

The focus window for a person has a round green icon showing the number of internet matches. Clicking on it takes you to the appropriate website (fmp or My Heritage).

Is there any way I could get that green icon to show on my tree diagrams - would be extremely useful of I could :)

Tx

No way I'm afraid. That feature is ONLY available on the Focus Window.

Why do you ask?

Have you seen how_to:internet_data_matches|> Internet Data Matches with its suggestion to use Plugins that may offer what you want.

I'd half assumed it wasn't possible.

It's just that I tend to use diagrams and icons to scan visually for potentially missing info and it would mean I could go straight through to the internet matches window rather than via the focus window

Try the two Plugins using the following steps:
  • Select the person's Diagram Box that suggests potentially missing information.
  • Use Tools > Lookup Missing BMD Records/Census Facts to run the Plugin.
( You will have preconfigured that to choose Anyone via the Select Records dialogue )
  • Click the Lookup Missing ... button and the originally chosen person will be pre-selected so just click OK.
  • You can then search for the missing BMD or Census records.
