Deportation and Prison Facts

Post by janefrances » 17 Nov 2017 15:18

I would appreciate some advice regarding how to create custom facts for the above, I've looked at other forum posts on the subject but it dosen't really do what I want. I created a custom fact for Deported
{individual} was deported to {_place}{note}
Is there a way of getting it to read deported to Western Australia instead of deported in Western Austrialia?

but the sentence underneath reads: He was deported to Western Australia. Where am I going wrong?

I've done this in the sample project so take no notice of the dates!

Jane, did you resolve the Duplicate Custom Fact Sets (15405) problem?

The Sentence Template you have created only affects the Sentence: box and Narrative Reports.
They usually contain {date} and {age} and {note} that you would not want for the Facts tab.

There are other advanced override templates for the Facts tab and Records Window displays.
See how_to:understanding_expressions#override_templates|> Override Templates.
Use Tools > Fact Types > Edit > Advanced for the Deportation fact.
Enable both templates and enter Deported to {_place} into both.

Yes, thanks, I did managed to resolve the Dupicate Fact Sets problem by deleting the facts I didn't want. I'm just begining to realise what a powerful program FH is and thank goodness there's a sample project to use and help on this forum or I would be in all sorts of trouble!

I've followed your instruction and it's just what I wanted. Thanks again Mike :D
