Family Historian e-book

Post by gwilym'smum » 20 Oct 2017 16:03

I have just seen a post on FaceBook about a Family Historian e-book. Looked on FH web site but couldn't find anything. I am doing an online course about writing up your story and e-books have been mentioned. Is the Face Book a scam or if not, does anyone know where to find details please? If it is genuine I could tell those on the course about it.

Ann, can you paste the FaceBook browser web address here so we can review exactly what it says.

Maybe they are referring to the various Getting the Most From Family Historian 5 and Help Pages available to download from how_to:family_historian_documentation|> Family Historian Documentation in eBook and other formats.

Mike sorry this looks like gobbledegook to me but I can see Family historian hidden in there somewhere. I'm not sure what to do I right clicked on the link and then pressed copy, and when I got back here I right clicked and pressed paste and this is what I got. I have posted it on my facebook page. Will see if I can make a better attempt. My facebook page is Ann Simcock from Stoke on Trent educated at Padgate college.

When I looked at this post all the letters that appeared when I put paste were not there.

Mike the address looks like http://thefamilyhistorian.com.au/produc ... fe-e-book/
Members please don't click on any of these links I have only put them for Mike to check, they may be something horrible! I was a little concerned as when you read some of the replies asking how much it was it was in, either dollars or Euros. Sorry if causing problems

Ann, the connection with Family Historian is purely coincidental and nothing to do with any FH documentation.

Could not find anything on your Facebook page, but this it what your links lead to...

Checkout the Home page of The Family Historian based in Australia.
The My Story My Life – E Book/Hard Copy via the Store > Workbook tab is for saving your family's valuable history, memories and stories in an easy to use Family Memory Book.

Hi Ann and Mike,

I am sorry I was not around to answer your concerns last year but better late than never I suppose, as I only saw this post just now.

My name is Warwick Lyons, I am the person who developed both the versions of the My Story My Life family history booklet.

I just wanted to let you know the book is not a scam but real. I have sold many copies with almost all the comments I have received being in the positive.

I do not know what to say to convince you of this except to mention I also have a range of Family history items available free on my website such as Forms and Charts, questionnaires and Website Templates

I would be more than happy to answer any specific question/questions that you or anyone else may have.

If you do wish to ask any questions please post them here or if you prefer a more direct route email me on info@thefamilyhistorian.com.au

I hope we can clear up any confusion or concerns you may have over this book in the near future.

Kindest Regards

Warwick

Thank you for that feedback Warwick.
The confusion stems from the extreme similarity between the Calico Pie Family Historian product name and your website name The Family Historian but I suspect we all just have to live with that.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Not a problem, these things happen.

And you are correct though, I have absolutely nothing to do with the Calico Software product.

Kind Regards

Warwick
