Given Name summary counts
In order to weed out accidental mis-spellings, I need a way of breaking down Given Names into their individual elements: that is, "Mary Jane Smith" provides one count for "Mary" and one count for "Jane". Thence, "Mary Jne Smith" would contribute one count of the suspect "Jne" to the list, and that I can deal with. I've looked at the available Queries and the Plugins, and I can't see anything that matches my goal: a list of Given Name elements sorted by usage count. Have I missed something? Thanks for any assistance.

Re: Given Name summary counts
Roger, I have written a prototype Plugin to create those usage counts, which is the only way to do it.
It throws up a few questions.
Do you want to check only Primary Given Names or all the Nicknames and Alternate Given Names too?
How do you want to handle very short Given Names such as single initials "A", "B", "C.", "D."..., or "?", or "of"?
Perhaps exclude any Given Name that is only one or two characters long?

Re: Given Name summary counts
Hey, thanks Mike, that's brilliant!
Yes, primary names only and yes, exclude names of less than three characters.
Best wishes, Roger

Re: Given Name summary counts
Roger, try the attached Given Name Usage Count Plugin Version 0.1 Date 27 Jun 2017.
[ EDIT Attachment deleted as superseded later. ]
It has no progress indication, but on a 12,000+ person Project it produced its Result Set in a few seconds.
Remember to click on either column heading to change the sort order.
You will have to use the Records Window > Individuals > Filter: First Name to find the records where used.

Re: Given Name summary counts
That's just what I wanted, Mike; thanks very much.
One small tweak would useful: a M/F column (so I can check my Francis/Frances, etc). Otherwise, problem solved.
Very best wishes, Roger
