Source Citations for Sex?

Post by KayCee » 23 Jan 2017 00:58

For the life of me, I can't figure out where to include these. Any suggestions where to look?

It might seem minor, but I have one individual whose name is ambiguous, and who is reported as both male and female on various census records. Now, I'm pretty confident I have it correct, based on the spouse and children, but I'd like to document the records.

Thanks!

Hi Kay.
Presumably you have annotated the Census Source records &/or the Census Event's local Note appropriately.

You cannot add a Source Citation directly to the Sex field.
The best you can do is add a Source Citation to the whole record or the Name field.
To do that, ensure the yellow Sources For: pane is displayed, then in the Main tab click the Sex or Name field, and the Sources For: pane will show <whole record> or Name so you can Add Citation.

Alternatively, just annotate the record Note box that is on the Main tab between Name and Sex.
