Lookup Missing Census Facts - Search Criteria
The changes in the latest version of the Plugin version 4.0.2 are very useful and will make searching that much easier. One item on my wish list is to be able to filter out the pre - 1941 results. Although these act as a good reminder that there were other small census returns the likelihood of any of the people in my project being found in those are is quite remote. I would prefer to to have the choice of including or excluding them if that is possible.
I know that I can simply ignore those results but when they consist of over two thirds of the result set it would be much better for me if they weren't there in the first place.
Is it possible and, if so what do others think?
Brian

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts - Search Criteria
Have you considered the 'home or abroad' option of giving those Individuals facts with a Date matching the Census, and a Place not matching the Census?
Alternatively, if all their other Census Events have been found, then use the Select Records dialogue option and exclude them using a Query.
Also you can sort on Ancestry/FMP columns to put all those unwanted entries last, and thus easily ignored.
The option to exclude the Census cases you mention is tricky when considering all the similar 'partial' Census cases for all the countries, because they range from quite tiny to comparatively large relative to the 'full' Census cases. So the ones to exclude becomes a difficult value judgement. However, I will investigate a toggle option.

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts - Search Criteria
Thanks for your response, Mike.
I hadn't appreciated the difficulty created by other country's partial census (isn't it always the way when looking at something in isolation). Overall it is no big deal if a toggle can't be achieved although it would be a useful addition for me.
Brian
I am not sure if the effort of adding additional facts would be worthwhile. For example, my 71 ancestors would need approximately 200 facts recorded just to eliminate them from the results. With over 4000 individuals in my project, the task would be immense!Have you considered the 'home or abroad' option of giving those Individuals facts with a Date matching the Census, and a Place not matching the Census?
Sorry, you have lost me on this one as I am having difficulty in finding the Select Records dialogue option.Alternatively, if all their other Census Events have been found, then use the Select Records dialogue option and exclude them using a Query.
This is the option that I have been using but had forgotten to double click the heading to get the list into reverse order. I had stupidly been scrolling down the list which was a bit of a pain. Thanks for the reminder. Also you can sort on Ancestry/FMP columns to put all those unwanted entries last, and thus easily ignored.

The Choose the Individuals to search option allows for Anyone via the Select Records dialogue.

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts - Search Criteria
It may not be the final solution but try attached Lookup Missing Census Facts Plugin Version 4.0.3 Date 14 Nov 2016.
It offers the option I think you are requesting not just for UK but I've also had a stab at the other countries too.
However, it needs an in depth review to check which records are fragments and which are near complete for those other countries.
[EDIT: Attachment deleted as Plugin is now in Plugin Store.]

Re: Lookup Missing Census Facts - Search Criteria
Mike
I have just tried the new plugin and it seems to work for me. The difference is noticeable as it has reduces the number of my ancestors to examine from 71 to 30. This means that I am now able to concentrate on those where there is a definite possibility of there being a missing census fact rather than worrying about those where there is only a very slight chance of there being anything found.
If I come across any unexpected issues, I will let you know.
Many thanks
