Error Message when opening Ancestral Sources Data Entry

Post by kenfig » 22 Aug 2016 09:14

Not sure if this has been discussed before. I'm using a Windows 10 machine with Family Historian 6.2.2. Recently when using Ancestral Sources Data Entry, Family Historian is unresponsive for a minute or so & comes up with the following message.

I do have an internet connection. This message box is intermittent & when it disappears Ancestral Sources 5.2.0 is accessible.
Thank you for any advice

I have moved this to the Plugin Discussions Forum.

Many of my Plugins require an Internet connection to the Family Historian > Plugin Store and the plugins:help:index|> Plugin Help and Advice pages.

The error message is explained in plugins:help:ancestral_sources_data_entry:the_faq|> Plugin Help and Advice > Ancestral Sources Data Entry ~ Frequently Asked Questions also available via the Plugin's own Help and Advice button if there is an Internet connection.

It is possible that the Family Historian > Plugin Store pages were temporarily offline or very slow.

After much frustration, reformatting & installing FH several times I'm pleased to say I have found what caused the problem. It was a faulty wireless card. Switching it off & reverting to an Ethernet cable seems to have done the trick......
