Showing Relationship to Root Individual in Reports

Post by annah » 29 Oct 2012 14:50

Hi

I am compiling a book and like the idea of showing the relationship to the root invidal in the reports.

I have worked out how to do it using the settings option within the report in the book but it just displays in the report I am working on
Relationship to root individual: great (x6) grandfather

is there anyway I can get it to show the name of the root individual?

Thanks
Anna

Showing Relationship to Root Individual in Reports

You can't customise the title, but have you tried something like

Code: Select all

=CombineText(Relationship(FileRoot(),%INDI%,TEXT,1)," of ",FileRoot())
perhaps with a title of just Relationship.

Showing Relationship to Root Individual in Reports

Thanks Jane

That is perfect my report now shows
Relationship to Root Individual: great (x6) grandfather of my full name

Now when I print out booklets for my sister I can put her as the root and she will have a frame of reference and it won't boggle her brain so much :)

Thanks again

Jane,

Excuse my ignorance; how do I add the code you suggested =CombineText(Relationship(FileRoot(),%INDI%,TEXT,1)," of ",FileRoot())) to the Index in a Book?

Chet, could you please click User Control Panel at top of this page, then on Profile tab enter your Family Historian Version so it appears to the right of your postings.

You cannot customise the Index, but you can customise the Title of each Report that appears in the Contents page.

To do that in Report > Options select the Format tab and under Heading select Record and click Edit, then enter Jane's expression as the Heading Text and OK out.

Then add each Report to your Book.

Mike, I don't see a Report item under Report>Options>Format>Heading.

Even when I scroll down in the Heading box, there is nothing labeled Report.

Screenshot is attached.

Am I looking in the right place?

Sorry, typo, now corrected, should have been Record.
