Combining individualsi in differnet Pools

Post by JKC » 19 Mar 2016 15:10

I have a an unmarried son with ancestors in one Tree (or Pool) and I have discovered that the same man now married with decedents is in a different Pool. It seems that to combine the data I have to link individuals and copy their details one by one to the new location. Is there a way of moving and combining blocks of data avoiding the need to copy details across?

Just merge the two Individuals in your database and FH will take care of the rest.
i.e.
Open the Records Window.
Select the unmarried son Individual record in one Pool.
Use Edit > Merge/Compare Records and the Select Records to be Merged dialogue will open.
Select the 'same' married Individual in other Pool.

There should now be the two Individual records to be merged in right hand pane.
Click OK and review the data that will be merged.
When happy click Merge, or if uncertain click Cancel and ask for advice here.
