Hi, this is my first post.
I've tried searching the forums to see if this query has been asked before but can't find anything so here goes.
The idea of a map for life events is great and I find the plugin very interesting, however it got me thinking.
It would be nice to be able to put one ancestor's lives into context with historic events. So I guess what I'd like to see is to be able to select a time period, say 1800 - 1900 and along with a date line of one or more ancestors' events (selectable birth, marriage, death etc) insert notable dates ( waterloo, crimea, invention of the telegraph etc) in fact anything the user chooses as being significant to them. It could be military, royalty of even of local village significance.
The timeline chart plugin is a good starting point but I'd like to be able to view to results from a different perspective I suppose.
Any thoughts anyone?
Brian

Re: Historic Timeline
Welcome to the FHUG Brian.
It is a topic that has been discussed before, and it turns out to be much more complex than it first appears.
Certainly, it will require extensive use of quite advanced LUA and IUP GUI libraries.
The later version of the IUP GUI library in FH V6 may help.

Re: Historic Timeline
Ah, so not a couple of quick lines of code then!
Never mind, it'll have to go on the backburner for the time being, but thanks for replying.
