Any ideas why I am getting the attached error when trying to add a source using the plugin please? Its worked once but now I get the error every time. I have tried removing the plugin and readding but to no avail.
Thanks
Nicola

Re: Add GRO Source plugin error
What Source Number are you selecting?
It must be one that exists as a Source Record Id.
Usually the Plugin remembers the one created initially, but only if you are using a Project rather than a standalone Gedcom.

No the Source ID wasn't in use. Tried manually changing to the next number and still getting the same error. I've also tried on a different individual too and get the same error.

Re: Add GRO Source plugin error
Are you running the plugin in a Project?
Changing Individual has no effect on Source Id and Record Id must be in use.

Re: Add GRO Source plugin error
I've just realised what the problem actually is. I had read the details about the plugin but obviously not understood it clearly.
I'd assumed it created separate Source Records for each event, when in fact it just creates a citation linked to the single record. And it does say that.
The reason I was getting the error was because I'd removed the original Source Record for GRO Deaths that I'd originally created prior to trying the plugin because when I ran the plugin it obviously created a second Source for the individual relating to their death. All I actually needed to do was remove the original citation that had no details in and I would have been OK.
For someone who works in IT and does occasionally get accused of speaking too much techie jargon, even though I tend to think I use plain English, it was me not understanding the terminology as much as I thought I had when reading Jane's description of the plugin.
