Creating a Custom Report

Post by deckie49 » 23 Jan 2015 21:36

Good afternoon,
Is it possible to create a custom report in Family Historian showing a list of sources and those individuals with facts associated with those sources?

I don't think that can all be done in a report, but if you want to see a list of Individuals linked to a particular Source use the Query Individuals linked to Source. You will be prompted to select the Source.

To see a list of all Records linked to the Source (not just Individual records), select the Source in the Records window and use View > Record Links.

To see a list of the particular facts linked to the Source, use the plugin called List All Citations for a Source. This will produce a results set showing not only which records are linked to it but also which fact within each record. You can then double click on one of the cells in the 'item' column to open the Property Box with the focus on that fact.

There is a standard query called Source Records -All which lists all your Sources and their details including how many links each has. The result set can be printed if rquired.

don't forget that queries and the plugin mentioned by Lorna etc can be saved to various file formats; pdf, text, csv.

Thank you both so much!
Switching to a new program can be a daunting task. An entirely new way of thinking!
