I have a number of ancestors and relatives who were Non-Conformists and I am downloading baptism record images from the Genealogist. Typically an image is a scan of two adjacent pages and can contain rbetween 8 and 18 (roughly) baptisms. The most interesting ones are those with 8 records since each record will usually contain a large amount of information: father's name, location and occupation, mother's name and the names of her parents, date of birth and date of baptism of the child.
I decided when I first began these downloads that I would make my own transcription of both pages (in a source note) because I often had an interest in more than one of the baptisms. So far I am simply making the source records and not citing them at all. I intend to keep these complete source records, images and transcriptions no matter what else I do.
I would be interested in views on how to cite these records. In particular, when I am citing an individual entry should I create a new method 1 source for each entry as I use them - it is probably going to be cited for residence, occupation, names, baptism and birth - or should I cite the full record each time and create a Method 2 citation containing the location within the image (and my transcription) - not difficult as there are usually register numbers.

Re: Citing Non Conformist Image Records
As you are transcribing the whole thing, I would be tempted, to use "Where Within Source" on the citation to zero in on the correct entry. A lot will depend on what part of the source images you want in the reports, another option is to use the "note record trick" and create a source for each entry with a Note record attached which has a source of the "full transcript source".

The "note record trick" sounds interesting. At the moment, and it is early days yet so I could easily change it, I am creating a source with the image attached and the full transcription in Text from Source.
So is the idea that for each entry that interests me I create an individual source and a note record containing that particular entry transcript sourced by my full source with transcript and image?

Re: Citing Non Conformist Image Records
My nearest analogy is books or long articles...
I have a source record with the full ( or as much or as little as I want) transcript of the text.. this does not get cited to an individual/family but is there to refer to under eg "book consulted [name]" in the short title column for the full source..
Then I do a second much shorter source relevant to person or nuclear family which is cited to person/family and can appear in reports. This has the specific detail which is relevant to that person/family transcribed into it including page no etc.
I also make a note on the full transcript source where I have cited separately, so there is a cross reference. (This method re "books consulted" also useful for noting books etc not directly relevant to individuals but has background or method, and ergo useful to back track or produce bibliography.)

Re: Citing Non Conformist Image Records
The 'trick' does not have to use a Note Record it can simply be a local Note on the detail Source Record.
Although it is easier to link the composite Source Record to a Note Record than to the Note of the Source Record.
The advantage of the Note Record method is that it only needs linking to the composite Source Record once, and it is easy to add the Note Record on the Notes tab of the details Source Record.
Unfortunately, in neither case is the Citation of the composite Source Record listed in Reports of the Individual.
Regarding SunnyLady's point about cross-references, the composite Source Record link to the Note Record provides that cross-reference, directly via Citation in one direction, and via View > Record Links in the other.
The Note Record has similar two-way cross-references, directly via the Notes tab in one direction, and via View > Record Links in the other.
