Paul, could you please use the User Control Panel at the top of this FHUG page, and on its Profile tab select your Family Historian Version so its appears in the panel on the right, and we all know which version you are using.

As a matter of interest are you using the Ancestral Sources Data Entry Plugin to launch AS?

Does the problem happen with the Family Historian Sample Project?

Has the problem just started; have you used AS on this Project before; in other words what is the history of the problem?

Is your Project particularly large, or unusual in any other way?

Try using FH File > Validate and Tools > Find Uncategorised Data and Tools > Re-order Out-of-Sequence Data to see if that indicates or fixes any problems.

Try running the Show Project Statistics Plugin as it often reveals some exceptional unusual data in your Project.

If you still get the error, can you post the full details of the message. I think there is usually a drop-down arrow that allows the full details to be displayed, copied & pasted.

I am using FH v 5.09 and AS v 4.01

The error happens when loading AS from both the plug in or from the programme stand alone.
As will open other projects so it must be this one project.
I have run the stats plug in and don't see anything obvious.

On uncategorised data I do have a lot of entries that look to be not relevant
-FREL or -MREL natural
I think these were imported via web download of data.

I imagine these are the problem, is there an easy way to delete them all from the project please

Those UDF seem to simply be saying the Father and Mother RELationship is Natural.
On their own I would be surprised they are causing the problem.

That leaves the other suggestions I made...

Has the problem just started; have you used AS on this Project before; in other words what is the history of the problem?

Is your Project particularly large, or unusual in any other way?

Particularly because of the web download try using FH File > Validate to see if that indicates or fixes any problems.

Did the problem start immediately after the web download?
Did you validate the web download?

If you still get the error, can you post the full details of the message. I think there is usually a drop-down arrow that allows the full details to be displayed, copied & pasted.

No its not large.
I don't think I have run AS on this project before.
I ran the file validate with no errors.
From memory I imported and then validated before starting work on the file but I haven't been working on it for a couple of months.
The reorder data found very little to fix.

I note also a further category of uncategorised data

Hi Paul

Sorry to hear you're having problems. If you would like to send me a copy of your GEDCOM file then I can take a look at what the problem is and hopefully solve it. Rest assured I will only use it for testing purposes and won't pass it on to anyone else. My email address is Nick AT AncestralSources DOT com.

Best wishes
