V5 property box faulty

Post by Johnyeates » 27 Mar 2014 17:28

Hi, I have just upgraded from V4 to V5 on a Windows 7 PC and an extra tab that I had added to the Property box is not working as it did in V4.
It revolves around the use of Flags and being able to just click in a box to set the required Flag. The upgraded Property box does not have all the tick boxes. I have taken screen shots of the working and faulty displays and code.

Opps, I have tried to upload the four screen shots but the system will only take three, I even tried to resize them but to no avail. Can I do two posts to get the data onto the forum?

John

As you have upgraded from 4 I would simply delete the Tab and redo it. There were some changes in the formating of the file so perhaps it did not migrate correctly for some reason.

I would rather not delete and re-enter, it's a lot of work.
here are two images.

I have just seen that the file name has covered part of the image,
it is covering up '75 Percent'

Are all the flags used at least once in your file?
If not , they may have been deleted.
If this is the case, create a dummy individual and recreate your flags (Making sure the spelling is same as original) adding one of each to the individual.
Save your file then close and re-open, the tick boxes should re-appear.

Yes, all flags are used many times, every person is part of a family line and the Census flags are often used several times per person.
I think I am going to have to do what Jane advised and re-write it, at least I shan't have to re-design it.

Yes, that is the cause.
To check, use Edit > Record Flags to see a list of your Flags.

Since the Individual shown in your screen-shots has the same Name & Record Id, but different Flag ticks, it would appear that your data is not the same.
Also your screen-shots do not list the same Flags on the left.

If you have upgraded from V4 to V5, how can you still obtain The Working Image V4 screen-shots?

So it would seem that something more than simply upgrading from V4 to V5 has taken place.
Have you also changed PC or Windows OS or what?

All 'Flags' were available under Edit Flags.
I ticked all Flags for one person to no avail.
I tried a different project with the same result.
I am going to delete the Flag Tab and re-write it, shouldn't take too long.
Obviously a strange hick-up.
I will let you know what hapens.

You don't need to to delete the flags Tab, just re-do the data references.
