AS Plugin Error

Post by johnmorrisoniom » 21 Jan 2014 13:48

I have started to get the following error when trying to run the AS plugin on my very tired XP machine.

The error has only just started to appear, but does appear every time I run it.

This must relate to the trial Plugin V3.3 from my SkyDrive link in Ancestral Sources Data Entry (10970).

The path & file specified is where FH saves 'sticky' settings for the Current User that apply to all Projects.

Could you please check that the .dat file mentioned does actually exist.
Can it be opened with a plain text editor such as Notepad and a small edit saved OK?
( e.g. Change one of the Color numbers by +/- 1 )

If you delete the file completely does that fix the problem?
( The Plugin should recreate it when next run.)

It may be a 'tired XP machine' problem.

I will see if I can repeat the problem on my old XP machine.

If it is a real nuisance then revert to the Plugin Store version V2.3 of the Plugin.

After consistently coming up with the error all Morning, the error seems to have cleared all by itself.
This makes me inclined to think that it a "Tired XP" problem.

I am inclined to agree, because I cannot repeat the symptoms, unless I make the .dat file Read Only, but even then the error message is slightly different.
