In my tree I have a man, Brian, whose parents are known. They lived in Yorkshire, and after the father returned 'damaged' from WW1, Brian and his sister Monica were sent to Cork in Ireland to live with a well off uncle, William. Brian and Monica never again had contact with their natural parents. My question is how will I link Brian and Monica to William while leaving the link to their natural parents?

Two sets of parents? How to link them?
As he is an Uncle isn't that the answer ie he is a brother to either the mother or father? If the problem is showing the closer bond between them I imagine a note or event added to each child would help highlight the link. Or is the question you are asking really 'How does one show the close link in a diagram?'

You can simply treat them as Adopted children of the Uncle, adding them to him using Add Child and using the Existing record option and using the Relationship to flag them as Adopted.
On an all relatives diagram you will then see the children in both places. I would add a Residence event for the children when they moved to Ireland, with a note explaining the sitiuation.

Thanks Jane. You've come up trumps again. I did as you suggested, and also added a explanatory text box on the relevant chart.
