Improve Website or CD DVD HTML

Post by tatewise » 14 Jun 2012 22:05

This new Plugin is available from the Plugin Store.
It is intended to add features to published Website or CD/DVD Family Tree HTML pages.

Currently it only adds all Alternate Names and Married Women's Surnames to the names Index page.
This satisfies Wish List Ref 261 Web/CD Name index to feature alternative names.

It is hoped that in future versions of the Plugin, all URL such as mailto: ... and https:// ... and ftp:// ... will be converted to hyperlinks, in addition to http:// ... already supported by FH.

This Plugin Version 1.1 is now available. See the Help & Advice page for full details.

It now allows Alternate Names and/or Married Women's Surnames to be both added to or removed from the Index of Names page.

It also ensures all user URL in text fields such as Notes, that appear on Individual and Family featured pages, are active hyperlinks that optionally open in a new browser tab/window.
These URL include www. and http: and https: and ftp: and mailto: protocol schemes either enclosed in 'quotes' or or delimited by white space.

In addition, if a user URL in any text field is embedded in an HTML Anchor Tag then it will be appropriately converted.

This Plugin Version 1.2 is now available. See the Help & Advice page for full details.

Its name has been slightly changed, by removing the hyphen between CD & DVD, to overcome a download problem.

It now allows the style of added names to be chosen as Italics only, or Underline only or Italics & Underline.
In addition, tooltip pop-ups identify the added names when the cursor is hovered over them.
