Complete Diagram

Hi.

Please excuse a newbie question but how do I create a complete tree diagram of everyone that I have entered into FH? I understand how to produce each of the four diagram types: ancestors, descendants, a&d and all relatives but I would like to create a single diagram showing everyone I have entered regardless of whether they are relatives of a chosen individual.
Everyone I have entered has been as a relative to someone already entered into FH and so I (nievely) assume that it should be possible to create a single tree diagram showing everyone but I can't see how to do it.
The most complete diagram I can produce seems to be by chosing all relatives of a key individual but this still misses out branches of the family related by marriage.

This is on the wish list as an 'all in one' diagram.

You can increase the numbers included on an all relitve diagram, by changing the generations down to be from each ancestor, if you have not already tried that.

I've now registered and added my vote for this to the wish list. I would encourage any others who would find this useful to do the same.

Meanwhile does anyone know of any alternative program or utility that can print an entire tree of the contents of a GEDCOM file? Of the programs that I have evaluated I think Family Historian is definately the best for diagrams which is why I bought it, but I think the lack of an 'all in one' diagram is a bit of a disappointment. [cry]

Youve got my vote! Im also a newbie my copy of FH arrived in the post yesterday. I also thought that FH did this as I misunderstood the All relatives chart and the data I put in the trial version was rather small and simple. Its quite important to me as Im a step father and so I want to produce a chart that reflects all our family. I understand that 2.3 will enhance the handling of step children so maybe that will help but I think a full tree option would be very good. If you do find a tool to do this that loads GEDCOM data please let me know so that I can use it alongside FH, thanks. Although this issue was a little bit of a disappointment I am still very please so far with FH. I think that this user group looks great and there is obviously a lot of work done to keep it going, thank you, it was a major factor in my decision to buy a copy of FH.

Martyn, for the step children, add them into your family, children can have multiple sets of parents so you can show them in your family as well as in their birth family.

It is also worth experiementing with starting the All reliatives chart from different people. So for instance when doing charts for my Dads family I start with my Maternal Grandfather.

Just as an aside, once your tree grows an All in One comes a bit impractical, IMHO, my all reli's chart is 52 feet by 20 feet, I dread to think how big an all in one would be. [grin]

I'll try that. I started off with my all relative with me and my wife, it included my step children but stopped at their father. You cant argue with the logic of that as his family is not related to either of us but what I would like to do is produce a chart including my family and his so that the 'children' (they are rather old to call children any more!) feel involved as we track back more history. At the moment I have also printed a chart of his family and luckily there is a space big enough on the chart that I can glue it in! Ive also voted for being able to move items on the chart so I can keep this work around.

That is some family tree you have traced, it will be quite a while until I have anything that impressive.

I added 'Allow production of multiple charts on one document' to the wish list a few days ago, this might be worth a vote as it is probably nearer to the 'glue' action than the all-in-one

There is also one called
'Show more than 1 set of parents on a diagram'
