One of my female ancestors is shown in the 1911 census as an 'Iceing coverer'. That's not in my comprehensive lists. Any ideas what it might be?

Perhaps something to do with cake making/catering?

Did you get 'Iceing coverer' from the Census Transcript or the original Census Record Image?
I find that transcripts are not always an accurate interpretation of sometimes poor handwriting.
Could you attach to this thread, an enlarged image of the Occupation, extracted from the Census Image.

Cake-making looks a likely option.

I had a transcript. I've run out of credits so I can't get an image at the moment. I agree that transcription sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks for the responses.
